Potlakaya Perugu Pachadi(Snake Gourd Yogurt Chutney)

Ingredients:                                                      

Snake Gourd
  • Potlakaya(snake gourd) --1                                             
  • Yogurt -- 2 cups
  • Ginger Garlic paste --1 tsp
  • Green Chillies -- 3 or to taste
  • Salt -- to taste
  • Turmeric Powder -- 1/4 tsp
  • Oil -- 2 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds -- 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds -- 1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dal -- 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida(Hing) -- a pinch
  • Curry Leaves 
  • Coriander

 Preparation:

  • Wash and Chop the snake gourd into small round pieces and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Add Greeen Chili ,urad dal and Ginger Garlic paste and fry till all are fried. Add hing and curry leaves.
  • Add the chopped snake gourd, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and cook till the snake gourd is tender but don't overcook. Let it cool.
  • Meanwhile, add water to yogurt and beat it well. Add water little by little till you get the desired consistency.
  • Now add the fried snake gourd to the curd and give it a good mix. Adjust salt if required.
  • Take it into Serving bowl and garnish with Coriander.

           Now our Recipe is Ready ............:) Serve with rice.
