Tomato Chutney
Ingredients:
Tomatoes -- 6
Pea nuts --2 table
spoons
Chan dal -- 2 table
spoons
Green chili -- 4
Red chili -- 2
Curry leaves -- 10
Ginger --3 small
pieces
Garlic --5
Cumin seeds/jeera --2
tea spoon
Mustard seeds --1
teaspoon
Hing --1/4 teaspoon
Oil --2 table spoons
Salt -- to taste
Preparation:
Cut tomatoes into
small pieces. First roast pea nuts in a pan and keep it aside. Take a pan and
keep it on medium flame ,add red chillies,1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, little
mustard, ginger and garlic and fry it then
add green chilies and some curry leaves and add tomatoes and
salt ,stir it well and close it with lid till tomatoes cooked finely.
Let it be cool for
some time. Mix this cooked tomatoes with roasted peanuts in a mixer grinder.
And take it into a bowl.
Take another pan and
heat it ,add 1 table spoon of oil, 1 tea spoon of cumin seeds ,some mustard
seeds, curry leaves, little hing then fry this and add it to grinded chutney.
Now yummy Tomato chutney is ready.
